Business Development Manager Required

Reporting to: Managing Director, Department: Sales.

Sui Generis specialises in various sectors including fibreglass linings and coatings, GRP mouldings, spill containment, anti-slip floor and grating. We advise, design, manufacture and install and are focused on providing exceptional customer service.

Main Responsibilities

  • As a Business Development Manager, you will be instrumental in delivering the Companies Sales & Marketing strategy with your primary focus being that of new Lead Generation and Quote Conversion.
  • To work alongside and support other sales team members.
  • To visit and liaise with customers to develop key relationships to strengthen our ties with our customer base and to resolve issues where they arise.
  • To assist in expanding sales.
  • To regularly liaise with the Contracts & Estimating Team about forthcoming projects and to review current outstanding Estimates with the aim of increasing the likelihood of securing the project.
  • To liaise regularly with counterparts and colleagues employed within the wider Milbank Group in order to develop, both professionally and personally, by sharing best practice, experience, and knowledge across the different environments and industries.
  • To ensure that Sage CRM is used consistently and correctly within the department.
  • To perform other duties that relate to the department or corporate strategy as reasonably requested by the Sales Manager and/or Managing Director.



  • To execute and accomplish the Sales & Marketing Strategy with the Marketing Manager, Estimating Manager and Sales Team.
  • Achieve a total Sales Forecast of £5M for FY19, and subsequently assist with growing the business turnover to c£10M within the next 3 years, whilst maintaining margin.
  • Monthly reporting of progress against KPI's, contributing ideas on sales forecast and strategy to the SMT.
  • Assist with SWOT Analysis for all product ranges to determine our Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats to aid forecasting and product life cycle management.

Salary: Competitive, DOE

Location: Office based with occasional customer visits, including overseas if relevant.

Hours: 40 hours per week, from 8am to 5pm.

Holidays: 23 days per year, with 3 or 4 needed for the Christmas shutdown.

Pension: 3% from employee, 2% from Sui Generis.
