The problem – cracked bunds
The company has a base at Belfast International airport, where it keeps five bunded tanks – one for aviation fuel, two for diesel and two for de-icer.
The bunds had been in place for decades and had developed cracks and other structural problems, particularly where the walls met the floor. Farrans needed an economical and long-lasting solution to make them oil-tight.
