For over a century, Veolia Water has been managing and supplying water to millions of people across the UK and Ireland – helping its clients to use water more efficiently and protect the environment.
At one of the client's external treatment plants, the concrete apron supporting five pressure vessels was beginning to deteriorate.
The existing apron suffered from extensive algae growth, resulting in a slippery surface and raising Health & Safety issues for the work environment. But Veolia Water knew just who to call for a long-lasting slip resistant answer to the problem.
After inspecting the site, Sui Generis immediately recommended fibreglass grating – not just because of its exceptional slip resistance, but because we knew it would last more than 20 years and incur no additional maintenance costs for Veolia Water.
Our gritted grating contains quartz crystal bonded to the top surface, ensuring one of the highest degrees of slip resistance yet measured for a walking surface – and outstanding durability.
We offer a full installation service, so we can cut or mould our fibreglass grating to your specifications – which is why we were able to lay the grating to the exact shape of Veolia Water's vessels for complete coverage.
Workers at the external treatment plant can now rely on a safe, slip-resistant surface – at least for the next two decades.
If your industrial and outdoor surfaces pose a slip hazard, don't wait until a fall takes its toll. Call Sui Generis today on 01206 798 798 and get a free quote for state of the art fibreglass grating.

Due to heavy rainfall, water began collecting in the concrete apron around the pressure tanks. And because it had nowhere to drain out, algae began growing, resulting in a slippery surface that posed a threat to workers and a Health & Safety hazard for the client.
Our operatives first cleared the area of algae, moss and other debris, then prepared the concrete to ensure a flat, even surface on which to lay the fibreglass grating sheets.
We took measurements around each of the vessels so an exact shape could be cut from the grating sheets. After this, angle grinders were used to achieve a perfect fit before the grating sheets were fixed in place.
Each of the cut edges are sanded and sealed to ensure longevity while C clips connect the grating sheets and M clips fix them to the concrete. This results in a single surface that won't shift or move even with heavy foot traffic – and of course excellent slip resistance for Veolia Water's workers.
Our highly competitive work gives you the best quality results every time – every one of our operatives is highly skilled, well trained and takes exceptional pride in what they do. With Sui Generis, you can rely on effective, long-lasting work.
