A durable furniture solution for Skypark Scotland
Creating a modern and professional outdoor space, which is also durable enough to survive even the extremes of Scottish weather is no easy task. But Skypark, a thriving business community of 3,500 plus people in office, retail and academic accommodation, wanted just that.

The Brief
AKP were contracted by Skypark Trustees, on behalf of Skypark Unit Trust, to create a ‘roof terrace’ in a south facing area of ground where the buildings occupants could visit and relax.
AKP were looking for outdoor furniture that was modern and stylish, as well as being comfortable and durable, and to also reflect Skypark’s ethos of providing five star quality amenities. GeoMet’s Cube seating proved the perfect answer.
GeoMet’s Cube Seating Added Colour and Functionality
GeoMet’s Cube seating met the brief. The collection is handmade, composite moulded, so it was clear that it would be weatherproof and durable enough to meet the rigours of a busy business centre. The Cubes are also easy to maintain, the smooth surface only needs a wipe down to clean.
The vivid red Cubes and the vibrant green Cubes contrast with the coal black Cubes giving the seating area the unique and modern look that was desired. But most importantly the Cube seating is comfortable and thanks to its composite properties will remain cool and comfortable no matter what the temperature.
The Result
GeoMet’s Cube provided the roof terrace with exactly what it needed to complete its modern and stylish look, while creating a functional social space for co-workers to relax and converse.
The installation was finished in 2013 and the Cube seating is still as vibrant and comfortable as the day they were first placed.
