Engineering Workshop Floor
A variety of aggressive chemicals had attacked the cement of a brick floor in an engineering workshop. The attack was so extensive that bricks were completely loose. Further, erosion had penetrated into the substrate. The workshop floor had become a trip hazard and concerns were also expressed for the long term integrity of the building and contamination of the ground.

Sui Generis carefully lifted the bricks dug out contaminated material and re-laid the bricks on a prepared foundation. The bricks were cleaned and protected with a highly chemical resistant glass reinforced resin. Glass reinforcement plastic floor systems are not suitable for all environments. However, in certain circumstances they are the most viable options available.
The finished lining created a seamless one-piece, perfectly adhered, floor coating that followed the contours of drainage panels and wall plinth. (See pictures above right).
