Premier Foods produces some of the nation’s best-loved food brands from Hovis to Sharwoods and Mr Kipling Cakes to Branston pickle; in fact ninety nine per cent of all UK householders have a Premier food product in their homes.
Health and safety is high on Premier Foods’ list of priorities and that’s why they brought in a specialist team of experts from Sui Generis to ensure their delivery area was kept in excellent condition alongside Pollution Prevention Guidelines.
Stephen Ward, Project Manager, Premier Foods, explains: “We have large bunded areas – 300m² – around our tanks to contain any spills. Over the years weathering and occasional spillages have eroded the bund’s surface and we needed them lined. Sui Generis completed the work under extreme weather conditions, it was truly commendable the amount of work they managed to complete during breaks in the weather. The team was very responsive and completed the work to an excellent standard.”
Sui Generis prepared the existing surface by grit blasting and laid in a self-levelling screed, the fibreglass lining was then installed over the300m² bund. Mark Stone, Contracts Manager, Sui Generis, adds: “Our fibreglass bund linings are incredibly hardwearing and require zero maintenance. Fibreglass bund linings are also a cost and time effective alternative to a rebuild.”
