Working with industry
Sui Generis (Latin: of its own kind, unique) was founded in June 1996 as a company specialising in one-off glass reinforced plastic (GRP) manufactured items. Through early natural growth our field of expertise was soon being tapped by industry for refurbishment of storage tanks, bunds, gullies, etc; by the application of in situation fibreglass (GRP) linings.
Over the past ten years we have been involved in both prestigious and humble projects. For example, we were entrusted with refurbishing the historic iron works at St Pancras railway station. This four-year project commenced in 2003 and carried a value of eleven million pounds. The work involved ultra high pressure water jetting to remove old lead paint and the application of a modern high tech coating system.
Our GRP architectural mouldings have been installed at Galleons Reach, Becton enhancing the London skyline. You will also find our products in the trendy, refurbished Fort Dunlop in Birmingham.
On the darker side, sewerage works, effluent tanks, sludge pits, etc; have been cleaned and fibreglass lined. While this type of work may not be very salubrious, our client list is very impressive.
In 2005 we established our own manufacturing facility in China and now produce some of the finest quality fibreglass grating in the world at extremely competitive rates.
For ten years now we have manufactured chemical crop spraying tanks and other components for the agricultural market. We are innovators and specialists in various aspects of moulded spill containment. At the quality end of the automotive industry we supply hand made moulded components to the highest standards.

Being financially sound not only enables us to “keep our eye on the ball” but has also proven to boost client confidence. However, our most credible and strongest asset is the people that work with us. We have a highly skilled team, many of whom have been with us since the company formed.
